Goodyear Welt . Art under construction

Goodyear Welt . Art under construction

Hundreds of years, knowledge and dedication have produced one of the finest method of shoe construction: Goodyear Welt.

This is the most traditional method of making fine footwear. However, through an exclusive series of processes, the great leather artisans elevate this type of construction.

In the 1860s, Goodyear Welt construction was made entirely by hand. Still a new chapter in the history of footwear was written when Charles Goodyear Jr. invented the sewing machine for a welting process.

This method requires a high level of craftsmanship and a lot of experience in shoemaking.

JP Pierre has the best leather craftsmen specializing in the fine processes of shoe making.

Goodyear Welt system consists of a double inner and outer seam that joins the leather to the sole, giving the shoe unmatched resistance and durability.
The inner seam holds the upper leather to the sole and frame, while the outer seam fixes the frame to the sole.

Between the two parts into which the shoe is divided, there is a layer of agglomerated natural cork. The adaptable properties of agglomerated cork allow it to shape the footprint over time, giving the shoes a high level of comfort.
The result is a high-end leather shoe with an exclusive process, high-quality materials, and a unique tradition.
